Be Yourself – Step 4
Posted by Julian on 09 Oct 2015 / 0 Comment

As we continue this journey, I encourage you to be yourself. What we have learned, the opinions we have heard, have become part of who we are. The ego can take off and run with these ideas, leaving our dreams and our purpose behind. For example, have you ever been to a presentation where the speaker is so rehearsed that the message has no real meaning? Can you think back to people you have met on the journey of life who are so wrapped up in ego, that you never really got to meet the real person? Be yourself. The speaker who talks from the heart, has the audience on the edge of their seats. The presentation may not be perfect. Who cares? A life in search of perfection is like trying to push the river – and that pursuit of perfection will stifle all creativity.

As an imperfect human being myself, I already find myself being challenged to keep up with this blog, because I am in my very busiest time of year. My promise is to do the best that I can – and that is all we can ever do. And perhaps, it is meant to be just as it is. The thoughts, the fear, from past & future will have us forgetting the present moment – and the present moment is all we have. So practice being yourself, being present, and we will pick it up again in a week .. or so.

Let me leave you with this prayer from the Lakota. There is much wisdom here. Julian

“Wana Tanka [My Creator], Great Mystery, teach me how to trust my heart, my mind, my intuition, my inner knowing, the senses of my body, the blessings of my spirit. Teach me to trust these things so that I may enter my Sacred Space and love beyond my fear, and thus Walk in Balance with the passing of each glorious Sun.”
